Our Mission
With focus on the community, Atkinson Fire Department strives to protect life and property through fire prevention, education and emregency response.
Introduction
Atkinson Fire Department was founded in 1964. It serves the Town of Atkinson, 130 square miles of Pender County and 2 square miles of Bladen County. Atkinson Fire Department currently holds an insurance rating of class 6 NCDOI. Atkinson Fire Department operates out of one station located at:

Staff
Atkinson Fire Department is staffed with part-time firefighters Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, but relies on volunteers to answer calls not during those times. Also vounteers are needed
during the day time hours to bring other equipment to scenes that cannot be carried on the first out truck and provide additional manpower.
